Special Research Materials and Technologies Policy
The Uzbek Journal "Problems of Mechanics" requires research involving specialized materials, restricted data, advanced technologies, geographic information systems, remote-sensing data, hazardous processes, or high-risk engineering applications to be conducted lawfully, safely, and responsibly.
Authors must comply with all applicable institutional, national, international, environmental, safety, data-protection, and intellectual-property requirements.
Permissions and Approvals
Authors must obtain all permissions or approvals required for the use of:
- restricted or confidential databases;
- proprietary technical information;
- geographic, satellite, remote-sensing, or infrastructure data;
- industrial facilities, laboratories, equipment, or field sites;
- hazardous materials or processes;
- third-party software, models, datasets, images, or technical documentation.
Formal ethics approval is required only where the research involves human participants, personal data, animals, or another activity subject to ethical oversight.
Data and Confidentiality
Authors must clearly describe the source, collection, processing, and permitted use of data.
Confidential, sensitive, proprietary, security-related, or restricted information must not be disclosed without authorization. Appropriate anonymization and data-protection measures must be applied where necessary.
The journal may request evidence of permission, approval, or lawful access. Personal or confidential information may be redacted from documents submitted for verification.
Safety, Environmental, and Social Responsibility
Research must:
- comply with applicable technical and safety standards;
- minimize unjustified risks to people, property, infrastructure, and the environment;
- disclose significant hazards and limitations;
- consider foreseeable environmental and social consequences;
- avoid providing unnecessary operational detail that could facilitate harmful or unlawful use.
Transparency and Reproducibility
Authors must provide sufficient information about materials, equipment, software, models, algorithms, assumptions, and methods to support scientific evaluation.
Information may be withheld where disclosure is restricted by law, security, confidentiality, intellectual-property, or contractual obligations. Any such restriction must be clearly explained.
Editorial Assessment
The journal may request additional documentation or expert assessment where a manuscript involves significant safety, legal, environmental, security, or ethical concerns.
Manuscripts that do not meet the applicable requirements may be returned, rejected, suspended, or investigated under the journal’s relevant policies.
Policy Administration
This policy is effective from 1 August 2026 and will be reviewed periodically.
