Crossmark Policy
The Uzbek Journal "Problems of Mechanics" participates in the Crossmark service to inform readers about the current status of its published content.
The Crossmark button allows readers to determine whether an article is current or has been corrected, retracted, withdrawn, or otherwise updated after publication.
Application of Crossmark
The Crossmark button may appear on:
- article landing pages;
- HTML versions of articles;
- PDF files;
- correction, retraction, or other update notices.
The presence of the Crossmark button does not mean that an article has been changed. Readers should click the button to view its current status and any registered updates.
Types of Updates
The journal will register significant post-publication changes, including:
- corrections;
- retractions;
- withdrawals;
- Expressions of Concern;
- removal or replacement of important content;
- changes affecting authorship, attribution, interpretation, or reliability;
- other updates that materially affect the scholarly record.
Minor typographical or formatting changes that do not affect the meaning, interpretation, or citation of the article may be corrected without issuing a separate update notice.
Corrections and Retractions
Significant corrections, retractions, withdrawals, and other notices will normally:
- be published as separate, clearly identified notices;
- explain the reason for the action;
- include a publication date;
- be linked electronically to the affected article;
- receive a DOI where applicable;
- be registered in the article’s Crossmark metadata.
The original article will normally remain accessible and will be clearly marked where a correction, retraction, or other important notice applies.
The journal avoids making silent changes that could obscure the history of the published record. Crossref recommends separate update notices because undocumented changes can make it difficult to distinguish and cite different versions.
Responsibility for Updates
The journal is responsible for:
- maintaining accurate Crossmark metadata;
- registering significant updates with Crossref promptly;
- linking notices to the affected articles;
- updating article landing pages and files where necessary;
- ensuring consistency between the journal website, DOI metadata, and published notices.
Authors must promptly inform the Editorial Office if they identify a significant error or ethical concern in a published article.
Additional Publication Information
Where available, the Crossmark record may also provide information concerning:
- publication history;
- peer-review status;
- funding;
- conflicts of interest;
- ethics approval;
- data availability;
- copyright and licensing;
- author identifiers and affiliations.
Such information is supplementary and must be kept accurate and current.
Policy Administration
This policy is effective from 1 August 2026 and applies to content registered by the journal in the Crossmark system.
