Publication Fees (APC) Policy

The Uzbek Journal "Problems of Mechanics" operates under an open-access publishing model. All published articles are freely available to readers without subscription or access fees.

The standard Article Processing Charge (APC) established by the journal is:

USD 100 per accepted article

However, for manuscripts accepted for publication during the 2026 calendar year, the APC is fully covered by the journal’s Founder. Therefore, authors are not required to pay any publication fee for articles accepted in 2026.

Submission and Peer-Review Fees

The journal does not charge authors for:

  • manuscript submission;
  • initial editorial assessment;
  • peer review;
  • submission of revised versions;
  • rejection of a manuscript.

No payment is requested before the final acceptance decision.

APC for 2026

For articles accepted between 1 January and 31 December 2026:

  • the standard APC remains USD 100;
  • the full APC is covered by the Founder;
  • authors are automatically exempt from payment;
  • no separate waiver application is required;
  • no invoice for the APC is issued to authors.

This financial support does not influence the peer-review process or editorial decision.

Purpose of the APC

The APC supports expenses related to:

  • manuscript and peer-review administration;
  • editorial and technical processing;
  • language and formatting checks;
  • article layout and preparation;
  • production of PDF and online versions;
  • DOI registration and metadata maintenance;
  • website hosting and platform maintenance;
  • publication, backup, and preservation activities.

The APC is a charge for publication services and is not a payment for acceptance.

Editorial Independence

All editorial decisions are based solely on:

  • scientific quality;
  • originality;
  • relevance to the journal’s scope;
  • methodological reliability;
  • compliance with ethical and editorial requirements;
  • results of independent peer review.

The payment, exemption, or financial support of an article does not influence its evaluation, acceptance, or rejection.

Future Publication Fees

The Founder’s full coverage of the APC currently applies only to articles accepted during 2026.

For subsequent years, the applicable APC, available waivers, discounts, or other financial support arrangements will be announced transparently on the journal website before payment is requested.

No revised fee will be applied retroactively to articles already accepted under previously announced conditions.

Additional Charges

The journal does not apply hidden publication charges.

No additional mandatory fee is charged based on:

  • the number of authors;
  • the number of manuscript revisions;
  • the author’s country or institution;
  • the duration of peer review;
  • the number of tables, figures, or references.

Reader Access and Licence

Publication fees do not create any charges for readers.

All articles are published in accordance with the journal’s Open Access Policy under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).
